Who am I? I am a history teacher at a public high school. I love it. Working with young students is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done.
I also love Jesus and have been teaching in the church for the last 20 years. This blog is dedicated mostly to that.
In addition to teaching, I also work as a freelance editor. My writing has appeared in the North American Mission Board’s Women’s Ministry Blog, and more recently in Fathom Magazine (also here).
I have multiple masters degrees and now am back in school again to work on a Master of Education (focusing on gifted education) from the University of North Texas. I don’t think I’ve ever not been involved in school in some way. I study history. I am fascinated with ancient languages and how the semantic fields surrounding individual words can effect culture. Each of our world’s current cultures has evolved from those before them, each borrowing from the vocabulary of those before them. Ancient Greek and Ancient Latin weave together in some really interesting ways.
